SCIENCE CITY OF MUNOZ, Nueva Ecija - The National Freshwater Fisheries Training Center (NFFTC), supported by BFAR Central Luzon, conducted a FishFarmers’ Field Day as part of the celebration of the 56th Fish Conservation Week.
Regional Director Wilfredo Cruz welcomed the participants from all over Nueva Ecija, Tarlac and Pangasinan. The opening program was followed by the awarding of 2 Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Boats and 5 life vests to the Small Water Impounding Project (SWIP) in Barangay Matingkis where 200,000 tilapia and 5,000 carp fingerlings were also dispersed.
Mayor Nestor Alvarez led the event. NFFTC Chief Jodecel Danting, together with Supervising Aquaculturist Ruben Reyes, Information Section Head Lilibeth Afan and Provincial Fisheries Officer Jun Coloma, also graced the activity.
