BFAR 3 holds Regional Fisheries Food Summit
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Central Luzon under the Department of Agriculture, through the herculean efforts of Director Wilfredo M. Cruz, hosted the 2019 Regional Fisheries Food Summit last August 30 at the Pipanganan Function Hall in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
The summit brought over 160 participants from the major aquaculture industries, the provincial local government, commercial and municipal capture, post-harvest and trade marketing sectors, National Government Agencies and State Universities and Colleges.
The aim of the summit is to gather the issues and concerns within the region pertaining to the “8 Paradigms” to operationalize DA Secretary William Dollente Dar’s “New Thinking” in agriculture. It is the vision of the secretary to reorient and reinvent Philippine Agriculture and direct it towards the path of modernization and industrialization thereby increasing and improving the livelihood and economic status of our fisherfolks and farmers.
The day-long event ended on a triumphant note as organizers and participants alike parted with renewed hopes for the fisheries sector.
