BFAR 3 Awarded FRP Boats and Fisheries Livelihood Projects to Fisherfolk of Bataan
P1.6M WORTH OF FRP BOATS AND OTHER LIVELIHOOD ASSISTANCE AWARDED TO BATAAN
Former Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Jr. personally thanked Regional Director Wilfredo Cruz for the fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) boats and livelihood interventions that BFAR Central Luzon has distributed to the local fisherfolk of Morong and Bagac in separate programs today, September 23.
Ten motorboats were distributed to identified beneficiaries in Morong along with solar lamps, gillnets, marine engines, tuna handlines and vending equipment. Bagac, on the other hand, has received 10 motorboats as well, marine engine, payao, bakulingling, smoke house facility and a techno demo project. Each municipality was awarded with more than P 800,000 worth of these important implements to help improve the livelihood and augment the income of the recipients.
The programs were attended by Vice Mayors Ma. Chona Garcia and Ron del Rosario of Morong and Bagac, respectively. Sangguniang Bayan members were also present. Municipal Agriculturist of Morong, Soledad Monsalud, graced the awarding in her municipality. PFO Bataan Romina Yutuc ensured the success of both events that were organized in celebration of Fish Conservation.
